Pressure Equipment Directives

The Pressure Equipment Directive is a prerequisite for those looking at tapping the European markets for exports. This aims to ensure the free placing on the market and putting into service of the equipment concerned within the European Union and the European Economic Area. It is one of the series of technical harmonisation directives for machinery, medical devices, simple pressure vessels, gas appliances and so on, which were considered by the communities program for the elimination of technical barriers to trade.

Homologation & type approval for the auto industry

'Homologation' has been derived from the verb homologate, which means, "approve or confirm officially". It is the certification of a product or specification to indicate that it meets regulatory standards. There are technical services that specialise in helping manufacturers achieve regulatory compliance. These might include the explanation and interpretation of standards and specifications, assistance in plant facility audit and approval, testing and certification of materials, product design consulting, and translation of manuals, legal mandates and other written material. Third Party Inspection

Third Party Inspection or TPI is an extremely important process to be done before a product goes to market. 'ISO/TS 16949' - The new harmonised quality standard for the automobile industry

'QS 9000' - A standard for the automotive industry
