TÜV SÜD becomes the first organisation accredited to carry out Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) validation for all sectoral scopes TÜV SÜD has been accredited to conduct validation in all CDM sectoral scopes. With this achievement, TÜV SÜD has become the first Designated Operational Entity (DOE) that can validate CDM projects classified under any of the scopes. The accreditation was approved by United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) CDM Executive Board, during its 27th Executive Board Meeting held from 29th October to 1st November 2006, at UNFCCC headquarters, Bonn, Germany. UNFCCC is an international treaty that sets general goals and rules for confronting climate change. TÜV SÜD can now conduct validation for sectors such as energy, manufacturing, chemicals, construction, transportation, mining, metals, fuels, waste disposal, afforestation and agriculture. A Designated
Operational Authority under CDM has two key functions: validation
and verification. TÜV SÜD experts validate and verify global
climate change projects - Joint Implementation (JI) projects in
industrialized countries and Clean Development Mechanism (CDM)
projects in developing countries. TÜV SÜD's international network
plays a crucial role in the successful implementation of CDM
projects and CER issue for emissions trading. In India, TÜV SÜD
South Asia supports its customers through all the stages of a
climate change project (validation and verification) and also
applies for the issue of certificates with the United Nations on
their behalf. For
