TÜV SÜD Academy to prioritize service in 2009

  1. Mumbai/ Munich. TÜV SÜD Academy announces the publication of its new programme for 2009. In the coming year, TÜV SÜD Academy will continue to offer a broad range of educational and training courses on proven or innovative themes, with a total of over 400 subjects and over 8,000 individual seminars and events. From 2009 onwards the education experts will add new services such as the option of booking reduced-rate rail tickets to travel to TÜV SÜD events.

TÜV SÜD at the NanoRegulations Conference in St. Gallen

While the pace of development in the field of nanotechnology has brought existing regulations face to face with their limitations, at the same time the importance of voluntary action in recording, evaluating and monitoring safety risks is increasing. TÜV SÜD and The Innovation Society, St. Gallen, presented the master document of their CENARIOS® standard at the 4th NanoRegulations Conference in St. Gallen on 16 September 2008. The open-access document is designed to increase transparency in the assessment and control of potential risks in the field of nanotechnology.

TÜV SÜD acquires MSOURCE to enter life science clinical research

  1. Mumbai. TÜV SÜD has completed the acquisition of all shares of MSOURCE Medical Development to create a new TÜV SÜD Life Science business unit. MSOURCE will be the contract research organization (CRO) of this business unit, which will belong to the PEOPLE division of TÜV SÜD. TÜV SÜD’s dedication to product reliability, safety and quality now extends to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. To the medical device industry, TÜV SÜD now additionally offers clinical research services.

TÜV SÜD plays active role in ensuring forestation management viability in the region

  1. New forest conservation projects are being initiated in Asia as part of the global effort to help control deforestation and reduce carbon emissions. These forestation projects aim to enable carbon sequestration, enhance biodiversity conservation, improve soil and water conservation and alleviate socio-economic conditions of the local rural communities. TÜV SÜD provides third party validation and verification for these projects and has provided these services for several forestation projects including the first AR (Afforestation and Reforestation) project registered by the UNFCCC, United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in November 2006, the Guangxi Watershed Management project in the Pearl River Basin, China.
